SNLL Annual Conference 2005
Wednesday 16 March, Tate Modern, London (FREE)
On 16th March 2005 over 150 delegates attended the 2005 annual conference of the Southwark Network for Lifelong Learning at Tate Modern.
This conference provided a once a year opportunity for those involved in the delivery and promotion of post-14 learning in Southwark to:
- Gain valuable updates on key local and sub-regional strategies affecting the delivery of learning in Southwark.
- Discover and share good practice through locally focussed themed workshops.
- Find out how their organisation can get involved in Adult Learners Week and help to ensure a wide and diverse range of activities for Southwark residents.
- Network and make links with other local organisations working in similar fields.
Morning speeches updated participants on important strategic concerns for post-14 learning in Southwark. Speakers included:
- Verity Bullough, Executive Director, LSC London Central
- Deborah Dent, 14-19 Project Manager,
Southwark Guarantee
- Rachel Johnstone, Regional Manager, Campaign for Learning
- Adrian Olsen, Head of Libraries and Lifelong Learning, Southwark Environment & Leisure
- Steve Tennison, Partnership Manager, Southwark Alliance
- As well as a range of local learners from Blackfriars Settlement and LLU+
Afternoon workshops will gave participants the opportunity to attend 2 workshops on the following themes:
- Adult Learners Week 2005 in Southwark
- E-learning
- Capacity building voluntary and community sector training providers
- Embedding Skills for Life
